Frequently asked questions
How Do I Register for WCG Australia?
Registration for the World Cyber Games is an easy process that takes only a few minutes.
Follow the STEPS below to take part in the largest cybergaming event in the world.
- Click Register on the http://au.worldcybergames.com/ homepage.
- Fill in your Details and provide genuine contact information as we will
need to contact you during the tournament.
- Once you have completed your registration details you will be able to
register for any available events.
- 14 days PRIOR to a scheduled event a NEWS post will be uploaded onto the
front page of http://au.worldcybergames.com/. This News post will be informing all gamers of the next scheduled event, the location and
details. A Registration Email address will be provided with the News posts, so that any player/team, wishing to compete in that event can send an email and confirm their place to attend.
If any player or Team that contains any members that have NOT registered on
http://au.worldcybergames.com/ (See Step 1), they will NOT be allowed to enter the
event. ALL members/teams MUST be REGISTERED on the site first.
How many Player/Teams spots are open for each event?
Player and Team numbers are limited. The
number of teams for each event will be announced 2 weeks prior to the event,
along with other information such as location,cost and times.
If the team limits have filled up for each event can I still register for that event?
Registrations will still be accepted
for each event even tho the team limit may have already been filled up. All
extra registrations will be added to a reserve list. If a team drops out, the
1st reserve will be asked to take their spot.
When I Register my details on http://au.worldcybergames.com/ am I able to play in all the events?
When you register on http://au.worldcybergames.com/ you are
agreeing to WCG.AU's
Terms &
Conditions and are then eligible to play in any event they host.
However, you are NOT automatically entered in any event. You MUST register for
each individual event when the news post announcing the opening of
registrations takes place (Usually 14 days before the actual event).
Can I play in Events that are not in my state?
Yes. All Qualifiers are open to any
individual that holds an Australia citizenship. You must provide your own
transport/accomodation and Entry costs to those events.
How many Events can I play in?
You can play in as many events as you like until you are granted qualification
to the National Finals. Each Event will have a different number of
qualification spots, which will be listed in the Registration opening post. If
you have previously qualified for the Finals and choose to play another
qualifier, you forfeit your previously qualified spot and it will be awarded to
the player/team that has finished next.
Can I use my own equipment at Finals and Qualifiers?
Yes. You can provide your own
Keyboard,Headset,Microphone and Mouse at LAN Cafe Qualifiers, and you must
provide your whole PC at the BYOC qualifiers.
What do the winners of the National Final get?
The Winners of Counter strike 1.6 (5
people), Halo 3 (4 People), Project Gotham Racing 4 (1 person) and Warcraft 3 (1 person) will receive PAID
flights, accommodation and some meals to the Global WCG Finals in Cologne, Germany. The minor
placings in each game may also receive some Hardware prizes to be announced at
a later time.
The winner of Guitar Hero 3 will receive return flights from their closest capital city to attend a Guitar Hero 3 play off at the Sydney Gamers League gaming event on October 4th, 2008. At this event they will participate in a play off with the Australian Guitar Hero 3 representative who attended the WCG Asian Championships. The winning player of this play off will receive return flights, some meals and accommodation in Colgne, Germany to attend the WCG Global Finals.
What are the AUTOBERTH and INVITE prize's listed in the Tournament Schedule mean?
The Prizes for all Qualifiers differ,
depending on Location, Importance and Timeframe. All winners of Qualifiers will
gain entry to the National Finals, some via Invite, some via Paid Entry known
as Autoberths. AUTOBERTH entries are flown in from interstate on WCG budget and
are given priority when it comes to finals seedings. INVITE entriess are
granted entry to the National Finals, but they must provide their own Travel
arrangements to take part in the Finals. INVITES will also be seeded below the
AUTOBERTH entry finalists.
What do I do if I have any questions that are not answered in the FAQ's or on the site?
