It wasn't a happy time at the Australian World Cyber Games team at the finals held in Chengdu China.

None of the games our players were involved with - Guitar Hero, FIFA 09 and Counterstrike - didn't make it past the group stage.

Guitar Hero's Joel Brookes lost his round robin 5-0 to players from Italy, Canada, USA and Netherlands.

FIFA 09 player Dimitri Bescos lost five and drew two of his games against players from Poland, Britain, Brazil, Russia, Sri Lanka, Panama and the Ukraine. All his losses were by the slimmest of margins - 1-0.

Finally, the Counterstrike team consisting of Emir Keser, Soren Larssen, Michael Aliferis, Otis Duncan and Rory Burke managed one win, two losses and a draw. They beat the Greek team, drew with the Finns, but lost to the Russia and Denmark

Apparently, results aside, the teams had a good time - there's always LA next year.
